The Pakistan Army foiled an infiltration attempt by khwarij belonging to Fitna-al-Khwarij in the Chaman sector along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, killing one militant while the others fled after sustaining injuries.

Security sources said that a group of three to four khwarij attempted to cross into Pakistan through a border area adjacent to the Chaman sector. However, Pakistan Army troops effectively engaged them as they tried to cut the border fence.

During the timely action and exchange of fire, one khwarij was killed while the remaining militants fled the scene.

Security sources said the army continues operations to safeguard the border fence and prevent cross-border infiltration.

They said that four to five improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and equipment used to cut the border fence were recovered from the militants.

Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar said on Sunday that the security forces have killed 583 combatants of the Afghan Taliban regime, destroyed their 242 posts, and “captured and destroyed” 38 others during Operation Ghazab lil-Haq.

Providing a summary of Afghan Taliban regime’s losses at 16:00 hours, the minister said that over 795 Afghan operatives were injured during the Operation Ghazab lil-Haq (Righteous Fury).

Around 213 tanks, armoured vehicles, and artillery guns have also been destroyed during the operation, he added. The minister noted that around 64 locations across Afghanistan were also targeted by air, effectively.

Separately, security forces killed 13 khwarij belonging to Indian Proxy Fitna Al Khwarij in a series of high-tempo intelligence driven operations in five separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.

“During an intelligence based operation in Bajaur District, own troops effectively engaged the khwarij location and after an intense fire exchange, five khwarij were sent to hell,” said a news release issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In two other encounters in Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan Districts, three khwarij belonging to Indian Proxy Fitna Al Khwarij were successfully neutralized, it further said.

Simultaneously, in two separate engagements in Khyber and South Waziristan Districts own troops effectively neutralized five more khwarij.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from Indian sponsored killed khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.

“Sanitization operation are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored Kharji found in the area as relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm e Istehkam” (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” the news release said.
