“We are dying from overthinking. We are slowly killing ourselves by thinking about everything. Think. Think. Think. You can never trust the human mind anyway. It’s a death trap.” – Anthony Hopkins
What screws us up more in life is the picture in our head of how things are supposed to be; overthinking. I think that overthinking is a gift as well as a bane. I am the one who overthinks a lot. After saying something to somebody that may sound impolite I just keep on overthinking, even though that individual might not even remember our conversation.
People always imagine about the future, how it’s going to affect their lives. Their fascination about the future is somehow, someway overthinking. But, the problem with the future is that it’s uncertain, and when something takes place contrary to your wishes then you feel like living a useless life.
You feel completely shattered. You don’t feel like working out, hanging out with acquaintances, enjoying movies and parties, everything becomes useless. You feel like a person who is unable to achieve things, unable to live his or her life to the fullest. This, my friends, is over thinking.
You feel that people were relying on you. They had some expectations from you, but you let them down. You cannot even face them. You just set off, dropping your time alone, away from everyone, not speaking to anyone. But, you have to remember that life is full of surprises. Overthinking is just some kind of disease that leads to negative thoughts.
When you overthink you become sad, depressed, shattered. It’s more like that you have totally lost control over your own life. Overthinking ruins your relationships and friendships and creates more problems for you. As you travel away from your friends and family you feel that no one is there for you. No one is there to help you.
The reality, however, is the opposite of what you feel. Everyone is there for you. They just need you to get back to normal life. When you are pressed down and shattered then you are not the only one who is suffering. Your friends and family are also in pain. You are important to them and they need you back in full spirit.
When you overthink you create negative scenarios and you replay those painful memories. You shout, yell and cry because you have no idea what else to do. But always remember that everything happens for a sound reason. Whatever happens, you’re overthinking cannot change it. Believe me it’ll make the conditions much worse.
Just breathe and have faith that everything will work out for the best. Don’t believe all the things that you tell yourself. Go with the wind and find that there is a life waiting for you, a life that you have constantly thought of living. You just have to scramble and run harder. You have to get hold of that hope. Live your life not entirely for yourself but for the people who love you.
Get along with your life for others and mould it for others to play along. Discover that one individual with whom you can share anything. Spit out everything that you have experienced in your head. It’ll help you feel better, way much more salutary.
Start working hard, always trust your instincts, try to be yourself and sustain trust in your powers. Always remember that hard work pays off. Keep smiling not only for yourself, but for the sake of the people you love.
