RAWALPINDI: The 18th Youm-e-Takbeer has passed on Saturday silently during the era of PML-N which made tall claims to make country’s defense unconquerable through atomic blasts. According to details, the activities of this historical day were limited to photo session, statements and social media. About nine parliamentarians of ruling PML-N including two Senators, five lady leaders have failed to gather the masses on this occasion. The cake cutting ceremonies regarding Youm-e-Takbeer were limited to drawing rooms and photo sessions. The former parliamentarian of PML-N Hanif Abbasi has remained behind the scene. The PML-N despite grouping after general polls of 2013 could not gather at one platform. The cake cutting ceremony regarding Youm-e-Takbeer was held at the residence of local PML leader Sahabazada Rahat Masood Qadoosi. Provincial Minister Ishfaq Sarwar, former and acting parliamentarians including Malik Ibrar, Raja Hanif, Zebun-Nisa Awan (MPA), Lubna Rehan, Hanif Abbasi, Ziaullah Shah, Sardar Nasim, Haji Pervez, Sajjad Khan, Malik Ashraf and about 50 leaders and party activists has participated in the ceremony. Similarly, such ceremonies in connection with the Youm-e-Takbeer were held at different places of the city including Muslim League House Iqbal Road, residence of Shabbir Ahmed, President Muslim League Youth wing, at the business setup of Sajjad Khan, the expected candidate of Mayorship of Sajjad Khan, in Tench Bhatta, where large number of local leaders and workers has attended the cake cutting ceremonies. It is worth-mentioning here that the party workers were dissatisfied of the separate show of powers by the party’s local leaders and sub-organizations of the party. Last year, on the occasion of Youm-e-Takbeer PML-N’s central leader Capt (Retd) Safdar has assigned this responsibility to celebrate this event to Chaudhry Sarfraz Afzal MPA and Provincial Parliamentary Secretary that he would supervise and monitor all the events held in connection with the Youm-e-Takbeer, who fulfilled this responsibility.
