PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly here on Friday passed the supplementary budget for the outgoing fiscal year 2015-16 worth Rs.26.3 billion. The speaker of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly, Asad Qaisar rejected all 50 cut motions of different departments and approved the supplementary budget anonymously. Before the approval of the supplementary budget Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said that slain Minority Minister Sardar Suran Singh family would be compensated while other members of the assembly who were killed in the war against terror would also be compensated. The CM appreciated the performance of KP police and said that with the performance of KP police peace, would prevail in the province. The CM further added that the provincial government conducted police investigations and established a counter terrorism institution as well as ISI, MI and other intelligence agencies. Information was shared it with other institution to help peace prevail in the province. He said that on-line FIRs could now be lodged, and various other positive changes were brought in the police department in the province, adding that the government was trying their best. Pervez Khattak said that across the province, 74 Model Police Stations would be constructed. The CM added that special police was deployed in Malakand division and the government had given them a three year extension, adding that a committee needed be constituted to analyse the performance of special police. Those who qualified needed to be recruited on a regular basis. Earlier, Sardar Hussain Babak, parliamentary leader of Awami National Party (ANP) in the provincial assembly said he appreciated the performance of the police and Armed forces and said that because of the Zarb-e-Azab operation peace would prevail in the country. He singled out the Special Police Force Malakand division for praise, which gave sacrifices in the war against terror when everyone else had left Swat and no one was willing to fight the militants. “It was the real rights of special police force of Malakand that government will announce them as permanent police force in police department” Babak asked. He further added that the government provide all the facilities and service structure to the nursing staff of the government hospital as like doctors because nursing staff were in the front line in war against terror and provide immediate medical facilities to the patients in hospitals. The opposition members also criticised the home department’s performance and demanded the government to provide all facilities and improve the performance of home department. On the occasion, an MPA from district Thorghar Zareen Gul presented a resolution to increase the salary of KP assembly members. The assembly members unanimously passed the bill.
