ISLAMABAD: The Joint Action Committee at the Federal Government Hospital Islamabad Polyclinic, has launched a campaign against the newly appointed Executive Director (ED). The Chairman of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) Doctor Sartaj has announced a campaign against the incumbent Executive Director Doctor Iftikhar Ahmed Naru for defamation. Other worker organisations; nurses, para medical staff and clerk association withdrew their support of the Joint Action Committee. The JAC is supported by the Young Doctors Assosiation (YDA). Sources in JAC said: “Due to the materialistic approach of the chairman JAC the supported association withdraws its support.” President of the association Nazeer Hussain Sumro told Daily Times that due to the double standard policies and venal nature of the Chairman JAC, they were forced to change their path. A privy source of the JAC revealed that Dr Naru was the employee of the FGSH Poly clinic and the former joint ED who maintained that under his tenure he would facilitate all the staff in every walk of life which was the main reason for withdrawing the support of some associations. When contacted, the former ED Amjad Pomi said that he worked wholeheartedly to provide facilities to common people and some new initiatives had been taken to upgrade the hospital facilities. “I accepted the government’s decision to disband me from the post. I am a government servant and I will work on the whatsoever post the government will give me”, he said When contacted, new ED Polyclinic Dr Ifthikar Naro said that he would continue the good work of former ED for the benefit of common people.
