LAHORE: The nightmare of left-armed batsmen is about to return. Yes! I’m talking about right arm off-spin bowler Mohammad Hafeez. ICC put a ban on Mohammad Hafeez on July 17, 2015, for 12 months when his action was found to be illegal for a second time since November 2014. He will be able to have his action reassessed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) only after the 12-month period is completed. Reliable sources say that as the period is about to complete, the off-spinner can reassess his action under ICC’s supervision and there are strong chances that the most economical spinner will be back in action soon. Sources say that Hafeez would have to pass a test, taken by ICC, after the Pakistan-England test series is over. That will assure the removal of ban from his bowling action. If he is successful in clearing his bowling action, he will be back in action to attack left-armed batsmen.
