I don’t know about you, but it’s hard for me to wrap my brain around the fact that it’s already August! This month, some of you may be heading back to school and others back to work after a long vacation. But don’t fret! Temperatures are still on the rise and so is summer fashion.Keep those off-the-shoulder blouses and espadrille sandals right where they are because you’ll need them with the heat wave that we’ve been having lately. To help keep you cool, calm and totally chic, I’ve put together my latest list of style tips to help you end summer on a high note. Maxed out – my favourite piece of clothing to throw on during the summer is definitely a maxi or a mid-length shirt! All you need is your favourite bag and shoes, and you’re ready to tackle the day in style.Pretty and patriotic – as August 14 is just round the corner, it’s time to don your greens and whites. You can wear this combination in a stripped pattern or go for a colour-block look. You can also wear a standout accessory. Many retailers have released an assortment for Independence Day. Tie it up – keep your hair out of your face by turning a bandana into a headband. Love how Sapphire schools us into styling scarves into wearable head accessories.Think internationally – it’s no surprise that the best fashion comes from across the pond. Improve your wardrobe this season by adding a touch of Parisian flare. Take notes from my pal Mehreen Arshad, on her black blouse and ultra-cool cropped trousers. Summer stripes – I like my summer wardrobe to reflect the best that this season has to offer! That being said, I’m always drawn towards stripes – be it nautical or a black and white number. There’s just something about stripes that brings me back to summer days.
