The Metropolitan Police on Tuesday confirmed that investigation into assault on Ex- PM Nawaz Sharif’s personal Physician Dr Adnan has been started by the force. The Met Police spokesman told this correspondent that police were investigating a robbery on Park Lane, W1 at 20:39hrs on Monday, 9 March. According to the Met, the victim reported he was approached by two suspects who assaulted him and robbed him of his watch. He did not suffer serious injuries. However, no arrests have been made yet and enquiries continue, the spokesperson added. Ex-PM’s physicians on Tuesday visited hospital for scans and treatment of his injuries caused by the last night assault. He was walking with the help of a stick and was looking in pain on his return from hospital. According to PML sources, Dr Adnan reported the attack to the Met Police and stated this was not a robbery as he was carrying two mobile phones and cash, but the attackers did not try to take anything. They further said for the last few days he was receiving threats over the phone and details has been shared with the Police. Dr Adnan was assaulted on Monday night by two masked men near the Sharif family Avenfield Apartments in the Mayfair area of central London. Sources closed to Dr Adnan said that he was on the daily routine walk when attacked, and the attacker may be aware of his schedule. He was hit on the head with a metal bar, punch and kicked in ribs. Dr Adnan suffered wounds on his head, face, chest and legs but the doctors said the injuries are not life threatening. Dr Adnan accompanied Nawaz when he arrived in London for his treatment in November and has remained with the former PM round the clock since then.
