ISLAMABAD: The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has decided to launch a PhD programme in six regional languages: Punjabi, Sindhi, Pushto, Balochi, Brahui and Saraiki, enabling the aspiring students to take admission in the current 2016 semester. The Allama Iqbal Open University is only the university in the country that provides learning facility in six regional languages at the same time. It also facilities the students doing M.Phil in Pakistani languages and literature. The Allama Iqbal Open University also extends its teaching facility in regional languages at the level of Matric, F.A and B.A. Besides this, it also offers short courses in Punjabi, Sindi, Pashto and Balochi. The last date for taking admission in these programmes has been extended till September 30.
