Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) offered South Africa to host the three-match T20 series at the Rawalpindi Stadium after the conclusion of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020 season 5.
PCB chief executive Wasim Khan has proposed Rawalpindi as a venue for the three-match T20I series against South Africa. The challenge, however, will be security and logistical side – Pakistan Super League ends on March 22, while South Africa end their tour of India on March 18.
It will be impossible for South Africa to fly back home and then come to Pakistan for a T20I series. The PCB are planning to make South African side stay in Dubai and then come to Pakistan for the series.
According to PCB CEO, Wasim Khan, CSA’s head of security is expected to visit Pakistan during the initial phases of Pakistan Super League and assess the security situation in the country.
“The tour of South Africa is very much a waiting game now and by the end of the month we should have a clear position,” Wasim Khan said in press release issued by the PCB.
“We are also looking forward to the arrival of the Head of Cricket South Africa’s Department of Security,” he added.
