Sir: Polio is one of the worst viral diseases that is spreading in Pakistan rapidly. Daily, new cases of identification of polio virus are reported because of two reasons; first, unawareness, and second, many parents don’t allow health worker to vaccinate their children because of mullah briefing. Moreover, a report shared by the National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) said that, on July 8, four polio cases were reported in KP and Balochsitan. The two polio cases are reported in district Jaffarabad and Killa Abdullah in Balochistan and other two in district Bannu in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with same reasons that parents had refused to vaccinate their children. After these four cases were reported, the number of polio virus victims reached to 41, including 33 cases reported from KP, three cases from Punjab, three from Sindh and two from Balochsitan. The concerned authorities are doing their best. I request all parents to kindly let health worker to vaccinate their children so that they would be save. WAQAR MOOSA Kech
