KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Deputy Secretary General Imran Ismail has said that the law enforcement agencies including the police have failed to protest citizens and restore law and order situation in the metropolis. Addressing a press conference at the Insaf House here on Tuesday, he vehemently criticised the recent attacks on the lives by unidentified assailants on Rahim Hassan Zai and Fazal Rahim at Shahrae Faisal. “He (Rahim) is still fighting for his live as he sustained bullet in the head,” he said. “Opponents are worried and saddened due to increasing popularity of PTI in the metropolis,” he said. “Opposition could not harass or demoralized our workers,” he said. Ismail said that the security establishment was only protecting elite class and they don’t bother about the poorer and there children. Sindh government has appointed ‘incompetent’ Inspector General of Police who is only serving the ruling elite and provincial ministers, he remarked. He recalled that three years ago PTI leader Zehra Shahid Hussain was killed and her case has still not concluded nor criminal executed. Now, Fazal Rahim was shot and he was in critical condition, he said. On the occasion, MNA Dr Arif Alvi said that the government and the law enforcers should arrest those involved in the attack on Rahim. He demanded suspension of area SHO who has not yet initiated any inquiry into the firing incident. “If the government and the law enforcers failed to arrest those culprits, then PTI will announce their action plan and will go on protest,” he said.
