ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday arrested Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani in assets beyond meaning, embezzlement of funds and illegal appointments cases. In a press release the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) confirmed the arrest of speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani. He will face an inquiry for accumulating assets beyond his known sources of income and misuse of public funding. According to the details an accountability court sent Sindh Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani on a three-day transit remand in three cases pertaining to assets beyond meaning, embezzlement of funds and illegal appointments. The speaker Sindh Assembly was arrested from a private hotel in Islamabad and was taken to the NAB Rawalpindi office. Siraj Durrani was accused of having properties in Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur and was failed to provide satisfactory answers and documents to NAB investigation team. According to the press release NAB Karachi had collaborated with NAB Rawalpindi and the intelligence wing of NAB headquarter to ensure Durrani’s arrest. Further NAB will present Agha Siraj Durrani by tomorrow(Thursday) before court for judicial remand.
