PESHAWAR: A joint Indo-Pak Friendship initiative launched its 5th Indo-Pak Peace Calendar in Bacha Khan Markaz Peshawar here on Monday with the determination to promote the bonds of relation between two nations. Every year, Aaghaz-e-Dosti, launches an Indo-Pak peace calendar in India and Pakistan. This calendar includes selected paintings of students from India and Pakistan and activities in order to bridge the gap between the two countries. This calendar also includes messages from renowned personalities working on the peace from both the countries. The importance of the calendar is collection of shared dreams and hopes for friendship which continuously reminded of every year. The launching ceremony influx large number of people from all walks of life across the province. A girl student from Bacha Khan School Swabi Kalsoom whose painting was selected for inclusion in the peace calendar was awarded in the ceremony. Central Information Secretary of Awami National Party (ANP) Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Dr Faizullah Jan, Professor at University of Peshawar (UoP), Shamim Shahid senior journalist of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), representative of the Bacha Khan Education Trust and other social activists across the province joined the event. The participants of the launching ceremony openly hold debate over the centurion relation of the two countries and demanded from the political parties of Pakistan and India to designs policies which could lead both populations towards prosperity. Mian Iftikhar Husain welcome the launching ceremony at the KP and urged that without cordial relation with their neighbors countries Pakistan can never be a successful state the comity of nations. He also suggests that government should keep intact the bond of relation with India and Afghanistan for the larger interest of regional peace and stability. Shamim Shahid lamented over the current drove of bilateral relation and termed it against the spirit and wishes of the both countries peoples. “Media at the both countries were not plying their due role in relation stability and promoting war monger policies of the hidden actors through their contents,” he maintained. Dr Faizullah Jan shared with the participants that the syllables of the both countries academia and education institutes should be free from the chains of hate.
