On special directions by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Leader and Prime Minister Imran Khan, his Special Assistant Naeemul Haq called on Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PMLQ) President and former PM Chaudhry Shujat Hussain at his residence on Sunday. During the meeting, Members of National Assembly (MNA) Moonis Elahi, Salik Hussain, Hussain Elahi, Ejaz Chaudhry, Senator Kamil Ali Agha, Provincial Minister Muhammad Rizwan, Shafay Hussain and Salim Baryaar were also present. Afterwards, talking to the media, it was stated very clearly that alliance between the two parties will not only remain intact but will be further strengthened. Naeemul Haq said that Imran Khan attaches special importance to the alliance with PMLQ. “Some people do not want this alliance to happen. Some people don’t want to see our alliance and keep spreading rumours. But there’s no difference between the two parties. In some matters, there the stance can be different but this is not weakening the alliance. I have been sent by Khan to Chaudhry Shujat Hussain to say that there is no difference between us and this alliance should be further strengthened and it will gain further strength.” He said that in the expansion of the federal cabinet, PMLQ will be given more representation. “We’ll continue benefitting from the experiences of Shujat Hussain whereas Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi is playing his important role,” he said. Welcoming the arrival of Naeemul Haq, Hussain said that whatever he has said is quite meaningful. “We’ve pledged to go together and will move together Insha Allah. Those spreading rumours and creating obstacle in the alliance will fail. The alliance will remain intact. Supporting Khan is the need of the hour. Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar is a good selection of Khan and this will yield good results. We’ll foil any movement against him and not be part of any conspiracy,” he maintained. He said that PMLQ is a registered party. MNA Moonis Elahi is expected to be indicted in Khan’s cabinet. Published in Daily Times, February 11th 2019.
