ISLAMABAD: The federal police has begun ‘looting’ the citizens by establishing temporary check posts in the name of security at different roads and highways of Islamabad. The sources said that these temporary check posts are on the rise in Islamabad, where the police officials often insult the people while searching them after stopping their vehicles and motorbikes. Citizens at these checkposts are forced to give bribe to get rid of these police officials. If someone refuses to pay bribe to the police officials, they take him to police station, even if he possesses the required legal documents. The sources said that the big bosses of the police department had already issued the orders several times for the removal of these checkposts but police stations concerned always put these orders in the dustbin. The sources said that there are some 160 temporary check posts of the police in federal capital. Whereas on the important roads police personnel mounted in the mobile vehicles stop the citizens. The famous posts in the city are G/9-4 traffic signal, Faizabad, Golra Mor, Murree Road outside Best Western Hotel , Pindora Chowk, Bara Khau, Airport Mor on Express Way and Dhokri Chowk. The sources said that the police officials find some reference or recommendation to be deputed on these posts. The citizens said that these police posts not only impede the flow of traffic but also the police officials deputed there bother the citizens without any reason. If they don’t not have a driving licence or registration book with them, they are threatened that they would be sent to the lock-up.
