Lahore: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said that the government, armed forces and people are on the same page for elimination of terrorism from the country. “We should utilize our resources for elimination of ignorance, unemployment and terrorism,” he said while talking to a delegation of advisers and foreign attachés at the Governor House. The delegation led by Brig Hassan Raza Syed comprised representative of 17 different countries. Sarwar said that the government was determined to maintain cordial relations with its neighboring countries on the basis of equality. He further added that it was really positive that Prime Minister Imran Khan had taken bold steps by inaugurating Kartarpur corridor. The governor said that Pakistan is a peace loving country and it wants peace inside and outside of the country. He said that Pakistani nation had rendered great sacrifices, including human lives and resources, in the war against terrorism. “Unfortunately, our sacrifices have not been appreciated at the global level.” He said that peace in Afghanistan would result in peace in the region as well. He said that the minorities enjoy equal rights in Pakistan and they are playing an important role in different sectors. The governor said that the PTI government was the first government which had presented itself for accountability. He said that the government was taking steps for the betterment of economy and every possible facility was being provided to business community. Sarwar told the delegation that 10 million jobs would be created for unemployed youth and steps were also being taken to provide homes to the homeless people. To a question, he said that it was a priority of the government to bring 22 million out of the school children to schools. He said that practical steps had been taken for development of higher education sectors, adding that political interference had been eliminated in education institutions. “All appointments are being made purely on merit in universities,” he added.
