ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to demolish the requirement of National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) for facilitating the Pakistani expatriates at maximum level. The spokesperson of Ministry of Overseas Pakistani (MOP) here on Tuesday said that overseas Pakistani will not required any such documents to travel to Pakistan without visa. The decision was taken after the recommendation of Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari. The Foreign Office said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved the decision. “Now overseas Pakistani can travel to Pakistan without visa”, he added. The PM briefed that the government will soon introduce a special incentives package to encourage expatriates to transfer remittances through proper banking channels.
