The Drug Advisory Training Hub, Youth Council for Anti-Narcotics and Colombo Plan in collaboration with the Higher Education Department arranged an awareness walk against drugs at the Government Postgraduate College for Women on Saturday. According to details, Anti Drugs/Narcotics Campaign Consultant Syed Zulfiqar Hussain was the chief guest and principal Robina Saif, vice principal Akhtar Shamim, teachers, staff and a large number of students participated in the walk. On the occasion, Syed Zulfiqar Hussain said that women could play a vital role to curb the menace of drugs in the society and especially in their surrounding areas. He added that addiction rapidly increases among our youth especially in female students and more people will become drug addicts by 2020 due to lack of awareness. He said that decreasing the number of drug addicts should be the primary purpose of our organisation with the help of different government departments but unfortunately, we have no proper drug policy in Punjab. “They do not focus on this issue,” he said.
