MINNEAPOLIS: Anila Bano is one of the students who attended the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize forum at Augsburg College in United States (US). A total 22 students participated in the conference in Minneapolis. This year’s theme mainly focuses on “The Paradox of Peace”. Nobel Peace Prize winner President Juan Manuel Santos and Beatrice Fihn led the session of the international campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN). Both of them talked about bringing peace in the conflict areas to avoid any future concerns. Pakistani student Bano and other students various countries also talked to Fihn about the future of nuclear weapons in Pakistan. While speaking to media after the session, Bano said that Fihn was the highlight of the conference for her. However, she further added that Fihn thinks Pakistan’s case is complicated; she cannot say Pakistan should give up its nuclear weapons because of security reasons with the conflict between Pakistan and India. Moreover, Beatrice Fihn’s mission is to get all of the countries in the world to sign the treaty in order to eliminate their nuclear weapons and 60 countries have signed the treaty and 14 have ratified it up till now.
