ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has termed the water scarcity the biggest problem of the country. In his second address to the nation, Imran urged the overseas Pakistanis to contribute in Dam Fund. “If we don’t build dams, we have to face severe drought by 2025. There will be no water even for crops,” he added. Imran said that dams can be build in five years if overseas Pakistanis provide financial assistance. Also read: Diamer-Bhasha Dams construction to be speeded up: NA “If each overseas Pakistani donates $1,000, we would need to look nowhere for debts,” said Imran adding that he would make sure the money be spent on building dams. Earlier PM’s spokesman Iftikhar Durrani told media that the prime minister would address the nation on important national issues. “PM has decided to address the nation today on important national issues”, spokesman to the Prime Minister Iftikhar Durrani told Daily Times. PM Imran consulted his close aides on important issues before recording his speech which would last around one hour.
