LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Saad Rafique said on Tuesday that former president Asif Ali Zardari will be responsible if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Dr. Arif Alvi gets elected as president. Rafique was speaking to the media outside Punjab Assembly before casting his vote for Pakistan’s 13th presidential election. The former railways minister criticised Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for nominating Aitzaz Ahsan in the presidential election. PML-N leader claimed that Zardari knew that he was nominating a candidate who will not be accepted by PML-N. “The former president will be responsible if Alvi gets elected as the president of Pakistan,” he added. Speaking about the PTI presidential candidate, Rafique said, “Alvi is a good man and I respect him but Zardari’s behaviour is not acceptable.” Also read Will only support Aitzaz Ahsan if he apologises to Nawaz, says Pervaiz Rasheed He further informed the media, “During a meeting of the grand alliance of opposition parties, PML-N will nominate one of their party leader we have more seats.” “We had a chance to expose rigging in the polls but it was ruined,” he further claimed. “There was a time when Prime Minister Imran Khan used to say that PPP is PML-N’s friendly opposition and today PPP has become a friendly opposition,” the former railways’ minister concluded.
