You don’t need to go to the park Late night in the dark Without a soul near you, But there are spirits that could haunt you So before that, lend me your ears As I say, that I am not to be blamed, Our end was inevitable We were pre-destined to break free To get rid of each other, I did not, No, No, I did not! Bang the phone on your ear Slam the door, Only for you to disappear I did not Tear the piece of poetry, Which was a proof of our bond, I did not Prevent you from whispering our memories And lastly, I did not Desert you in the park, All alone And so, All blame is in vain You are responsible for your caliginous behavior You were the one, Who brought light to my life And now, you are the one extinguishing it, Before anyone else, Would dare to So I do not want to hear, Your stories anymore Kindly, Keep me away from your blackened soul For my soul feels lighter than ever I shall now, stay away, From you and your miseries Even if I stumble upon my own. Even if I burn my soul, It would be my remedy For you’re not there anymore Upon who I could rely I am the physic to my own soul. For now I have faith, In my own wings! More than you have in yours And so, Wherever you shall be Stay away from me And don’t tell stories Just to put the blame on me Published in Daily Times, August 30th 2018.
