ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Asad Umar said that the government has to reach a decision over whether to approach the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a bailout package while addressing the Senate. “Even if Pakistan goes to the IMF programme, this won’t be the first time that Pakistan has gone to the IMF programme. We have gone to the programme 12 times previously,” he stated. He also said that a decision will be made once Parliament is onboard to reach out to IMF for a loan. The decision will be made after a thorough economic consultation is complete. READ MORE: Pakistan to decide whether to seek IMF bailout ‘by September’
