Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that non-Muslims were equal citizens of Pakistan and PPP stood as a true guarantor of their rights. In his message on the 10th “National Minority Day” being observed today, the PPP Chairman pointed out that for the first time, PPP had awarded three tickets for general seats to non-Muslim candidates in 2018 elections. In 2009, President Asif Ali Zardari had declared August 11 as ‘National Minority Day’. August 11 is a historically significant day for minorities in Pakistan because on August 11, 1947 Mohammad Ali Jinnah gave an address emphasizing equal rights for non-Muslim citizens in Pakistan.
