Lahore: The unofficial and incomplete results of provincial assembly seats broadcast across media plat forms till midnight on Wednesday showed that the parties previously in power in Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber-Pukhtunkhwa (KP) were leading in the race. The PML-N was leading in the Punjab Assembly with a thin margin as the tally of seats of the party that has ruled the province since 2008 was reported at 135, based on unofficial and incomplete results. The PTI was trailing behind with 121 seats, and PPP with 27. Independents were leading in at least 29 constituencies, only one of whom was a candidate who contested on the symbol of jeep. In Sindh Assembly, the PPP was leading with 71 seats, based on unofficial and incomplete results. PTI and MQM-P trailing with 21 and 18 seats, respectively. The GDA and PML-N’s tallies were reported to be 10 each. On one seat, the five religious party alliance of MMA was in the lead. In KP, PTI was reported to be leading on 64 seats, ANP and MMA on 10 each, PML-N and PPP on three each. On three seats, independents were in the lead. The results available from the Balochistan Assembly showed the recently formed party after defections from PML-N, the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) in the lead.
