SHIKARPUR: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Mir Abid Ali Bhayo was disqualified from contesting elections by an appellate tribunal in Sukkur on Wednesday for allegedly having two different CNICs. An appellant tribunal in Sukkur announced verdict in favour of Ameer Ali Jatoi, an independent candidate for NA-198 Shikarpur-Khanpur, who had alleged the PPP candidate of having two CNICs and two votes in his native village of Jagan. According to reports, appellant tribunal judge heard the objections leveled by Ameer Ali Jatoi against Mir Abid Ali Bhayo for possessing two CNICs and two votes. The tribunal, after hearing arguments from both sides, disqualified the PPP candidate for having two CNICs and votes as well. Mir Abid Ali Bhayo, announced that he would lodge an appeal against decision at apex court for justice. Besides, it was also reported that the appellant tribunal rejected allegations filed by Agha Taimoor Khan Pathan against Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh, PPP candidate for PS-07 and upheld Returning Officer Shikarpur’s decision. Moreover, the tribunal also gave decision in favour of Agha Siraj Khan Durrani, PPP candidate for PS-09, and rejected all objections raised by his opponent from PTI. Besides, nomination form of Zulfikar Ali Kamario, PPP candidate who is contesting for NA-199 were approved, while further appellant tribunal proceedings’ are underway till filling of this news file. It is worthwhile to mention here that Mir Abid Ali Bhayo has served as provincial minister for youth affairs in previous government, while he is also PPP’s Shikarpur district president.
