SHIKARPUR: A villager was shot dead on Thursday while his three relatives sustained severe bullet wounds in a fight between two groups of Jaffari tribe that occurred over claiming ownership of a piece of agricultural land at Khairuddin Jaffari Village in the district of Shikarpur. According to Sultan-Kot Police station house officer (SHO) Shahban Kumbhar, assailants broke into the house of Khairuddin Jaffari and opened fire on his family. Resultantly, Khairuddin died on the spot and three of his relatives namely Hafeezullah, Nawaz and Dodo were left injured. Meanwhile, the suspects managed to flee from the scene. The SHO revealed that the attackers were their close relatives, and a piece of agricultural land became an apple of discord between two groups of Jaffari tribe.Following the information, the Sultan-Kot police officers rushed to the spot and shifted the deceased’s body and injured to Civil Hospital in Shikarpur. After autopsy, the body was handed over to his heirs. Further investigation of the incident is underway. Published in Daily Times, June 22nd 2018.
