LAHORE: Inspector General Police Punjab Captain (r) Arif Nawaz Khan has directed traffic wardens to put on a new bluish uniform in remaining 31 districts of Punjab from April 30, 2018, starting from Monday because traffic wardens service has been implemented across Punjab and so the first step is to change their uniforms. IGP added that now all over Punjab, there will be the same uniform of traffic police. Before this, a white shirt with blue trouser pants was being worn all over Punjab except six mega cities. In order to make better traffic management, educated persons from six big cities of Punjab have been recruited as traffic assistants and further traffic assistants shall also be recruited in which special seats for women have been allocated. After approval, DIG Traffic Punjab has started the process of appointments of traffic wardens from five big cities for remaining districts of Punjab so that improvement may be brought out in the traffic system. Moreover, new transport and modern equipments are being given to traffic police by which traffic accidents will reduce and public will benefit from this modern based traffic management system. This system of traffic was already implemented in five big cities of Punjab but now it has been launched all over the remaining districts of Punjab. IG Punjab has directed traffic staff that they should wear new uniforms and also perform their duty with diligence, honesty and enthusiasm.
