LAHORE: Training courses of newly inducted post graduate residents and house officers at Lahore General Hospital (LGH) on clinical management of dengue fever arranged by the Department of Medicine & Pediatrics under their Health Education Programme of Post Graduate Medical Institute has been completed. This was informed by Professor Ghiyasun Nabi Tayyab on Wednesday while presiding over a meeting held to review the preparation to counter dengue during the current year. The meeting was attended by professors, LGH Medical Superintendent Dr Mahmood Salahuddin, nursing superintendent and other administrative doctors. Professor Ghiyasun Nabi Tayyab said the meeting informed that comprehensive arrangements have been ensured this year as well in order to combat dengue like previous years. All the preventive measures including reinstatement of dengue counters, high standard of cleanliness and sanitation and dengue training to all the staff have already been taken, he said. Professor Tayyab added that LGH has played a role of front foot fighters against dengue in the past and it will maintain its tradition during the coming dengue season as well. He strictly directed the administrative doctors to follow the standard operating procedures regarding safety measures against dengue in order to provide relief and medical cover to the citizens in case they suffer from dengue.
