LAHORE: National Highways & Motorway Police Central Zone has organised a four-day crash-training workshop and refresher course for 109 newly appointed drivers of motor transport wing at NH&MP Zonal Office at Babu Sabu on Wednesday. According to details, the Motorway Police arranged this programme, on the request of Punjab Motor Transport S&GAD Wing. Motorway Police Road Safety Training Institute Incharge SPO Shawana Kauser has conducted the crash training programme. During the training programme, drivers were taught about improve driving skills, service etiquettes and values, traffic discipline, dozing at wheel, general conduct, defensive driving, driving in emergencies, road rage and road safety rules and regulations. While reviewing the content of road safety syllabus, Zonal Commander Deputy Inspector General Ahmad Arslan Malik said, motorway police is determined for further improving the road safety-training programme in accordance with international standards and on modern lines. He said they would be happier if road users adopted all precautionary measures while driving like not using mobile phones, avoiding over speeding and adopting other road safety measures.
