KHAIRPUR: A wanted criminal, accused of three murders, was gunned down in an alleged encounter with the police on early Tuesday near Sobho Dero, a town in the Khairpur District of Sindh province. According to police, they confronted Ali Raza Pitafi at the link road near Mad village. He was accused of killing renowned advocate Sahib Khan Kanasro, Asharaf Kanasro and Nazeer Kanasro, three months ago. Consequently, the body was shifted to Sobho dero Hospital. Police arrest constable carrying bhang A police constable was arrested on Tuesday allegedly with fake number plate on the car and Bhang, an edible preparation of cannabis drug. According to a report, the Baharo police arrested a police constable Abdul Hameed Sheikh and detained a car loaded with five bags of Bhang. The car had a fake police monogram. Meanwhile, senior superintendent of police (SSP) has dismissed the constable from his police service and ordered station house officers (SHOs) of police stations to verify number plates of all vehicles in the district. Notorious criminal held A notorious criminal was arrested with multiple injuries after an alleged encounter with Kot Diji police on Tuesday. According to senior superintendent of police (SSP) Shabir Ahmed Sethar, the police confronted Ali Khan Gopang, a wanted criminal, during patrolling near link road of Kot Banglo. SSP accused Ali Khan of 16 crimes including robberies and murder of Muhammad Moosa Dayo, a constable who was killed in 2009. The police have detained a stolen motorcycle and a pistol from his possession. Meanwhile, his accomplices have managed to escape. Youth arrested for hate speech against Hinduism The Khairpur police raided a house and arrested Inayat Ali on early Tuesday. According to the police, the accused was involved in hate speech against Hinduism on the social media and shared posters to hurt the religious sentiments of the Hindus. The police traced and arrested him. Meanwhile, a case has been registered against the accused. Police recover tortured body from van A tortured body was recovered on Tuesday from a Mazda pickup near Bhiria road. According to a report, the police found the body during routine inspection of the travelling vehicles. The deceased was identified as Gulzar Ali Jagirani, a resident of Pirjo Goth. The body was shifted to rural health center in Bhiria city for legal formality. Meanwhile, the police have started investigations after arresting Bag Ali, the pickup driver.
