LAHORE: A petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) against one-month detention of the man who threw ink on the face of Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif. According to the petition filed by Muhammad Ameer, father of ink-thrower Muhammad Fayyaz, the detention orders are against the law and that ‘under no circumstances can such orders be given’. It was also requested that the LHC suspend detention orders of Muhammad Fayyaz by declaring the order null and void. The high court will conduct hearing of the petition on April 4 (tomorrow). On March 14, Deputy Commissioner Dr Farrukh Naveed had issued one-month long detention order of Fayyaz for promoting hateful sentiments.
