LAHORE: The Lahore-Delhi “Dosti” bus service has been affected once again due to the ongoing protests of the Dalit community in India. The Dalit community and the relatives of those Indians who were killed in Iraq are protesting in the different areas of Amritsar and Delhi. The bus departed from Lahore to Delhi this morning reportedly had to suffer eight-hour delay due to these protests. Moreover, Pakistani officials have not yet succeeded in making contact with the bus which left Dehli for Lahore today. According to sources, there are 16 Pakistani passengers on the bus. Managing Director Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation(PTDC) Chaudhary Abdul Ghafoor Khan said that the Indian officials stopped the bus due to security reasons. “Our staff could not make contact with the bus staff yet, and we are concerned about the situation,” he said. However, the bus is expected to reach Lahore by tonight.
