KARACHI: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday announced Mark Coles of New Zealand as Pakistan national women’s cricket team coach, while former Test cricketer Jalaluddin was named chief of the selection committee. A PCB official confirmed that Mark Coles, who worked with the team in UAE series against New Zealand on honourary basis, has been appointed as head coach for the next two years. “Mark was a member of the Wellington squad and played six ‘A’ list games for the side. He had worked as an assistant coach with New Zealand ‘A’ Women’s team in the year 2000 and recently with Pakistan’s women team in the UAE,” said the official. The spokesperson also said that the three-member selection committee headed by Jalaluddin and consisting of former Pakistan cricketer Akhtar Sarfaraz and Asmavia Iqbal will ensure development of women’s cricket in Pakistan.
