KARACHI: A young man hailing from Balochistan was shot dead in an act of target killing in Defence Housing Authority on Tuesday. The victim’s uncle, however, remained safe in the attack. Police officials said that the incident occurred apparently over personal enmity. A 19-year-old Imran Buksh who hailed from Balochistan was shot dead when armed assailants opened indiscriminate fire at his unregistered white coloured Parado at Khayaban-e-Roomi within the limits of Sahil police station. The incident took place on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday. “Imran Buksh was accompanied by his paternal uncle who arrived from Balochistan for his medical treatment,” said Sahil SHO Abid Soomro. “Buksh’s father had gifted a new Parado to him. He took his uncle for a drive when the incident occurred.” Police officials said that the armed men on Parado and another suspicious vehicle attempted to stop him and opened indiscriminate fire when he sped up a vehicle instated of stopping a vehicle. He was shot at least twice while his uncle remained unhurt in the incident. The victim’s uncle however immediately informed the family members and relatives, who reached the spot and shifted the victim to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medical treatment, however, he could not be survived and breathed his last. Police officials said that the incident apparently occurred over personal enmity, adding that the victim sister’s in-laws who also belong to Balochistan were behind the incident while further investigation was underway as what the family of the victim didn’t approach the police for registering a case. The deceased was a resident of DHA and recently got intermediate. His body was moved to Balochistan for burial process. Police officials said that at least 18 bullet marks were found on the victim’s vehicle while further investigation was underway. Published in Daily Times, January 11th 2018.
