JACOBABAD: SSP Jacobabad Sarfraz Nawaz Shaikh and Community Development Foundation Jacobabad jointly inaugurated the Women Complaint and Protection Cell at Police Head Quarters whose inauguration ceremony was held at Police Head Quarter Jacobabad, here on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, SSP Jacobabad Sarfraz Nawaz Shaikh shared their views pertaining to gender inequality and said that gender inequality is the major issue of the Pakistan and has been ranked 4th out of 153 countries where the status of women is the worst adding that it is reported in a research that 27 per cent male partners oppress women when 73 per cent male dislike the work of women as an employee. Mr Jan Odhano said that Women Complaint and Protection Cell will help Gender Based Violence [GBV] survivors to seek justice and will provide them legal aid and assistance. The President of the Hindu General Panchait Mr Lal Chand Seetlani said that there was a dire need to establish such kind of cells to protect the rights of an innocent segment of society. Ms Allan Newton said that in order to protect women rights the protection of women is necessary while the President of the Chamber of Commerce Ahmed Ali Brohi expressed that the cell will be helpful for oppressed women to seek a solution to their issues. Iqbal Detho, prominent human rights activist, said that Robert Pale who had laid the foundation of London Metro Politian Police, quoted “Police is Public and Public is Police” so the role of Jacobabad Police in the establishment of protection cell is highly admirable act.
