TV actress and model Momina Iqbal and Punjab Assembly member Saqib Chadhar appeared before the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency in Lahore on Thursday and recorded their statements in an online harassment case that has sparked widespread discussion on social media.

According to officials, both individuals appeared with their legal teams and spent several hours at the NCCIA office, where they were questioned by investigators. The case was initiated after Momina Iqbal publicly accused the lawmaker of online harassment, cyberbullying and receiving death threats.

She alleged in a viral social media post that she had faced prolonged harassment from a provincial assembly member and claimed that attempts were made to suppress her complaints. She further stated that even individuals linked to political offices allegedly tried to discourage her from pursuing the matter.

Her sister, Advocate Rimsha Iqbal, who is representing her legally, said the family had submitted evidence supporting the allegations. She also claimed that pressure was being exerted ahead of Momina Iqbal’s upcoming marriage and that threats were issued to her fiancé.

On the other hand, Saqib Chadhar’s lawyer rejected the allegations, stating that both parties had been friends since 2020–21 and had even considered marriage at one stage. He argued that the dispute stemmed from a personal relationship rather than harassment. The defence also said that Chadhar had provided financial and social support to the actress over the years and would present relevant details before investigators.

A source said the case gained momentum after Momina’s public appeal attracted attention from senior political figures in Punjab. Reports also suggested that the Maryam Nawaz Sharif took interest in ensuring a swift investigation.
