According to police and the victim, Sohail, a resident of Kasur who runs a shop in the busy Ravi Road business hub, was returning home when the incident took place. He said he had placed a bag containing Rs2 million on the handle of his motorcycle when two armed men on a motorcycle intercepted him near his residence.
The victim stated that the suspects threatened him with serious consequences when he attempted to resist before fleeing with the cash. He reported the incident to the police shortly after the robbery.
The Ravi Road area, known as a commercial centre, has reportedly seen a rise in street crime in recent months, raising concerns among traders and local residents about safety and law enforcement.
Following the complaint, the Shafiqabad police registered a case against unidentified suspects and initiated investigations to trace the culprits. However, no arrests had been made at the time of reporting.
Sohail also expressed frustration over the police response, alleging that instead of immediately acting on his complaint, officers questioned him about carrying such a large amount of cash on a motorcycle. He claimed that criminals were operating freely in the area, while traders remained vulnerable.
Law enforcement officials have not yet issued an official statement regarding the allegations, but investigations are underway to identify and apprehend the suspects involved in the robbery.
