Meat exports grow by 4.16%

Meat and meat preparations exports from the country during the last 10 months of current financial year grew by 4.16 percent as compared to the imports of the corresponding period of the last year. Over 97,623 metric tons meat and meat production valued at $443.898 million were imported as compared to the imports of 98,458 metric tons worth of $426.156 million of the same period of the last year, According the data of the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. Meanwhile, the fish and fish preparation exports from the country increased by 6.07 percent and over 175,397 metric tons of fish and fish products were exported as compared to the exports of 171,886 metric tons valued at $370.891 million of the same period of the last year. During the period under review food commodities worth of $ 4.190 billion were exported as compared to the exports of $ 6.164 billion of the first 10 months of last financial year. Over 3.579 million tons of rice worth $1.879 billion were exported during the period from July-April, 2026 as compared to the exports of 5.085 million tons valued at $ 2.963 billion of the same period of the last year. Meanwhile, Basmati rice worth of $668.380 were exported as compared to the exports of $ 722.709 million of the same period of the last year. During the period under review, over 629,638 metric tons of Basmati rice were exported as compared to the exports of 702,626 metric tons of the same period of the last year, it added. In last 10 months of current financial year, country earned $1.211 billion by exporting over 2.949 million metric tons of rice other then Basmati as compared to the exports 4.283 million metric tons worth of $2.241 billion of the same period of the last year, the data revealed.
