Russia condemned recent US-Israeli strikes on key Iranian nuclear facilities, calling for global condemnation. Moscow described the attacks as violations of international law and a threat to nuclear safety. Officials urged the IAEA to address the risks and demand a halt to further strikes.
The strikes targeted Iran’s yellowcake production facility in Ardakan, the Khondab heavy water plant, and areas near the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said those responsible must understand the severity of their actions. She described the attacks as “egregious violations of international law.”

Zakharova also called on the International Atomic Energy Agency to clearly acknowledge the threat posed by these strikes. She emphasized that Iran’s adversaries appear to ignore, if not deny, the seriousness of the situation. Moscow expects IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi to convey Iran’s concerns promptly.
Russia argued that the attacks undermine the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, IAEA verification processes, nuclear safety conventions, and other international standards. Zakharova warned that the destructive course must stop immediately to prevent further escalation. She urged the international community to act decisively.
