Fans of horror comedy may not have to wait much longer, as the first trailer for Scary Movie 6 is reportedly set to release online on Monday, March 2, 2026. The upcoming film marks a major revival for the popular parody series, arriving 13 years after the release of Scary Movie 5. The sixth instalment will see the return of fan-favourite cast members, including Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Anna Faris, and Regina Hall, whose performances helped define the franchise’s comedic identity in its early years.

While official plot details remain under wraps, Marlon Wayans has hinted that the film will parody several modern horror hits. These reportedly include critically acclaimed films such as Get Out, Nope, and A Quiet Place, along with newer genre entries like Terrifier 3. The film is expected to continue the franchise’s tradition of blending horror references with satire and over-the-top humour.

Wayans also suggested that the sequel will maintain the bold comedic tone that made earlier instalments successful. In a previous interview, he described the film as a “no holds barred” comedy aimed at making audiences laugh without limitations, staying true to the franchise’s irreverent style.

The release of the trailer is expected to offer the first official look at how the franchise adapts to today’s horror landscape and audience expectations. With its original stars returning and a fresh lineup of horror films to parody, Scary Movie 6 is already building anticipation ahead of its scheduled theatrical release on June 12, 2026, marking a significant comeback for one of Hollywood’s most recognisable parody franchises.
