
QUETTA: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Friday lauded the Frontier Corps Balochistan (North) for its contribution to improving the security situation in the province.

During a visit to the FC Balochistan (North) headquarters, the two leaders observed a passing-out parade and reviewed the force’s operational capabilities. A contingent of FC personnel presented a salute to the minister and the chief minister as part of the ceremony.

Inspector General FC Balochistan (North), Major General Muhammad Atif Mujtaba, briefed the visitors on the FC’s training regime, counterterrorism operations and professional preparedness. Senior FC officers were also introduced to the interior minister and CM Bugti.
Mr Naqvi and Mr Bugti visited the martyrs’ memorial, laid a wreath and offered Fateha in tribute to personnel who have lost their lives in security operations over the years.
Speaking on the occasion, the interior minister emphasised that the services and sacrifices rendered by the FC in combating militancy and restoring peace were “unforgettable”. He said the FC’s efforts remained vital to the security gains achieved in Balochistan and described its role as a “bright chapter” in the province’s recent history.
The Balochistan chief minister also acknowledged the FC’s role in counterterrorism efforts, noting that the provincial administration and security institutions were working in collaboration to further strengthen stability and support development across the region.

The visit comes as security forces continue operations against militant groups in parts of Balochistan, while the provincial government maintains that improved coordination between civil and military institutions has helped reduce violence in recent years.
