The Sindh cabinet has approved an allocation of Rs2.9 billion for the development and upgrading of industrial zones in Karachi. Speaking to the media after the meeting, the chief minister said the provincial government remains committed to strengthening industrial infrastructure as part of its broader economic development strategy.

Murad Ali Shah said the approved funds would be utilised to repair damaged roads and improve drainage systems across Karachi’s industrial areas. He noted that inadequate infrastructure has long been a concern for industrialists and businesses, affecting productivity and investment.

The chief minister added that the Sindh government plans to announce similar development packages for industrial zones in other parts of the province. He said the Industries Department is currently working on proposals to upgrade industrial estates in various cities, and formal announcements will be made once the projects are finalised.

In addition to industrial development, Shah highlighted the outcomes of recent public hearings conducted across 23 districts of Sindh. He said citizens raised complaints related to law and order, policing, healthcare facilities, municipal services, water supply, road conditions, irrigation, and education.

The chief minister directed all concerned departments to address the complaints promptly and submit detailed reports on the actions taken. He emphasised that resolving public grievances remains a priority for the provincial government.

Murad Ali Shah also announced that public hearings would resume in the second week of January. He warned that government officials who fail to resolve issues raised by citizens could face strict disciplinary action.

The approval of funds for Karachi’s industrial zones is expected to provide relief to businesses operating in the city and support efforts to improve industrial productivity and employment opportunities in Sindh’s largest commercial hub.
