Collisions at level crossings remained a persistent issue, with incidents like the Rehman Baba Express striking a trolley, and the Pakistan Express narrowly avoiding major accidents, highlighting ongoing safety concerns for passengers and staff alike.
Railway sabotage, particularly in Balochistan, disrupted operations multiple times, including explosive attacks near Jacobabad on the Jaffar Express, while station upgrades were carried out, yet track modernization and rolling stock improvements remained limited amid growing challenges.
