The incident comes amid an increase in terror activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, following the end of the ceasefire by the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in November 2022. Security officials have repeatedly warned of heightened threats to political figures and public institutions in the region.
