LOS ANGELES: Kevin Costner is reportedly in discussions to portray former U.S. President Bill Clinton in an upcoming political drama series titled United, Variety reported. The 70-year-old actor would play the 79-year-old former president, with Chukwudi Iwuji also in talks to portray former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan.

The series, currently in early development, is set to be produced in association with the United Nations. Costner is expected to serve as an executive producer alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. The show will be written and directed by David Raymond, known for Night Hunter, with production by Appian Way, Onwards Studios, and Prime Focus DNEG.
United will reportedly highlight “true stories of heroism and perseverance by humanitarians in pursuit of making the world a better place for all,” according to Variety. Costner has a history of portraying historical figures, including Eliot Ness in The Untouchables (1987) and Jim Garrison in JFK (1991).
Bill Clinton served as the 42nd President of the United States from 1993 to 2001. He was impeached by the House of Representatives in 1998 over charges of perjury and obstruction of justice related to the Monica Lewinsky scandal but was later acquitted by the Senate and completed his term.
