LAHORE: Ayesha Ahad, who claims to be the wife of Hamza Shahbaz, Monday served a legal notice to Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah for using “abusive” language against her. The notice, sent by advocate Advocate Ali Zia Bajwa, demands the law minister to retract his statement and tender an apology with seven days. The notice also demands the law minister to pay Rs 2 billion as compensation for “tarnishing” the image of Ayesha Ahad. The notice added that legal proceedings would be pursued if the law minister did not comply with the notice. Two days ago, flanked by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, including Dr Yasmin Rashid and other, Ayesha held a press conference, demanding National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq to constitute a parliamentary committee to probe the matter. The PTI on Sunday declared that it would raise “Hamza-Ayesha” marriage issue in the National Assembly and ensure that she gets justice. The party had also pledged to cooperate with parliamentary committee in the Ayesha Gulalai case but at the same time demanded that the similar treatment be meted out to Ahad.
