KARACHI: The business community of the country has expressed grief over the genocide of innocent Rohingya Muslim minority in Myanmar. The world’s conscience should play its due humane role in taking appropriate steps to stop the killings of a large number of innocent Muslims at the behest of the Burmese leadership. United Nations and developed countries, claimant of human rights protectors should come forward and prove their claims being champions of peace loving nations and possessing anti-violence attitude. The brutal violence on Rohingya Muslim minority was asking United Nations and international agencies to raise the voice against this atrocity. They urged the neighboring countries of Myanmar to provide all possible support to the affected people getting refuge in Bangladesh. Besides Pakistan government as well as the world to stand up for helping Bangladesh providing food, shelter and medical assistance to the refugees. China’s role for welcoming the Muslim refugees of Myanmar reflects its civility toward suffering people. The world should take firm stand to stop Burma for violation of the human rights. Burmese government is supporting terrorism that could put the peace of the entire world on stake. The Myanmar government should ensure the rights of minorities, finding durable solutions for stateless Rohingya and holding the culprits accountable. Agha Saiddain, Ghulam Rabbani, Ibrahim Qureshi, Shakeel Ahmad, Sanaullah Khan and Qamar Qureshi, executives of prime export sectors- tanning, textile, business forum, agriculture sector, marble and minerals, economic forum and others segments of trade and business said that business community and every member of the country is deeply concerned over the massacre of helpless Muslims and give wakeup call to the sleeping international community. The silence of United Nations, Organizations of Islamic Countries and global leaders on massacre of Rohingya Muslims is regrettable. Though some Muslim countries, including Turkey and Maldives have taken steps to prevent further bloodshed yet the situation seems unchanged. Aung San Suu Kyi, the ruler of Burma, has failed to ensure peace and protect Muslim minority while her silence over the issue is being criticised globally. She is one of the few people with the moral authority and mass appeal to influence the situation, but she is not responding to the calls of international community.
