LAHORE: Pakistan tennis ace Aisamul Haq Qureshi inaugurated a state-of-the-art tennis court at Nishtar Park Sports Complex here on Tuesday. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Aisam said he was pleased to see that the new court, established by Sports Board Punjab, met all the international standards. “I am happy to see a tennis court here of an international standard,” he said, expressing hope that international tennis stars would soon be able to play here. “Hopefully, the security situation in Pakistan will continue to improve and very soon, international tennis stars will be able to come and play tennis here,” he added. Aisam said whenever he would be in Lahore he would come and train at the new tennis court. He also expressed resolve to become a role model for development and promotion of tennis in Pakistan. Earlier over the weekend, Pakistan qualified for Group-I by beating Thailand 3-2 in the Davis Cup Asia-Oceania Group-II final played at grass courts of the Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad.
